Assam Society of America Foundation, Inc. has been a United States 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit since 2004. We exist to support charity and development work in Assam and Northeast India — with care, transparency, and respect for the communities we serve.

We raise funds and use them for practical needs: disaster recovery, education, livelihoods, community infrastructure, and cultural well-being.

How we work

We prefer help that is specific, local, and accountable. That means listening to what families actually need after a flood or a hard season — a livable room, seeds for the next ploughing season and tools to engage in making a livelihood, a child back in class after prolonged absence — rather than imposing a distant template. We are careful with money, and clear about what we do. We work only with FCRA registered organizations in Assam and Northeast India.

Past activities

Working with Healthcare Providers

During the past twenty years of existence, Assam Society of America Foundation has been involved primarily collecting funds for healthcare programs, including cancer treatment for the poor, in Assam.
